Since I've just started week 4 at Goodwill this past Sunday, here's my recap on how I did last week at Goodwill, halfway through the first week during the onboarding process. My main goal was to clear two bins for that week. Though I didn't nail it, I'm coming closer to it everyday and picking up steam and speed. I'm still going to make it my goal to reach it a week from today in week 5.
On Monday, I only cleared one bin during that one day. A lot of donated items slowed me down, like if they were on hangers, and bedding, linens, and blankets. I've only had found something stuff that belonged in wares, including a couple pairs of shoes. Then I had a new hire orientation via Zoom with the staff at Goodwill and other new employers. That lasted an hour.
On Tuesday, I cleared a little over one bin at 1.25 for the day. That was a tiny bit further than the last day on the Friday's goal at 1.15. I just grab a bunch of items from the bin, and placed them on the workstation table. Then I sift them like gold into the salvage box,pre-sorted keep piles, and trash bins
On Thursday, we had a nice textile processor, who was mainly tagging and hanging, and not sorting. I did tell Danielle about this. But that's still my goal to get to that point, hopefully in the spring, and before my onboarding process ended. I just need to be fasted on sorting donations to clear two bins first, and then head to three in March. And the main project was dumping items from a couple of gaylord boxes and two blue bins into the salvage boxes, since we were overloaded with donations. Those boxes were sent to another Goodwill location to sort and salvage this week. Mainly, we salvage any type of jeans, since we're loaded with them in donations, and don't need them any more at this point.
Lastly, on Saturday, I returned to hit the bins and worked harder to retain my goal of clearing two bins. I didn't get to that point, but I did clear one-and-a-half bins when my shift ended. That's close enough as it would get for that week. I believe I could hit two bins by this weekend in no time.
Danielle is still continuing to work on gaining bridge support services with my local DD Board with my brother, especially on the paperwork we needed to get to that point. She wanted me to contact my PCP to have a letter show proof of my disability to send to them. This is still going to be a work in progress, that I would continue to update you on. She talked to my brother and got the paperwork she needed. She would be there tomorrow to speak to someone at intake on my behalf. I've sent her a text on the letter from my PCP I picked up today during my physical bloodwork appointment. Let's hope all goes well and works out well on my end. This is definitely going to be continued....
And I've received my first biweekly paycheck on Saturday afternoon. Now that's called for a celebration.
That's it on my end on how last week went at Goodwill. I'll keep you posted and check in with you tomorrow afternoon after work. Have a good one.

I just am impressed you managed to do all you do. You seem to have a lot of energy so I have no doubt you will get where you need to be on the job.

I think you are doing great and don't stress, have fun with it. I worked at Goodwill in my town and it was fun. We got to put everything out but our boss let us buy things first before anyone else saw it if we wanted it. I got some of the coolest things for my place. Enjoy the job and have fun...
