Thanks to a concerned animal lover who saw an elk that fell into an icy pond in Evergreen Colorado last Friday afternoon that an elk that needed help to avoid drowning, the Evergreen Fire Department answered the call for help.
The Evergreen firefighters came to the area where the elk was struggling to stay afloat by using a huge tool to break the ice on the pond when they then were able to get the elk out of the icy pond and escort the elk to the shore where the elk went walking away into his home.

@Deepizzaguy at least he could walk off and go back to his family. Maybe he'll stay off the ice, but he might have been trying to get a drink of water.
