Biggest lesson of my life.

I had always been an impulsive person. I made decisions quickly and acted on them without much thought. This trait had led me into trouble before, but nothing compared to what happened last summer.
I was at a party with some friends, and I had a bit too much to drink. I was feeling carefree and reckless, and when my friends suggested we go for a swim in the nearby river, I didn't hesitate to join them.
I jumped in the water without checking the depth or the current. The water was deeper than I thought, and the current was strong. Before I knew it, I was being swept downstream, struggling to keep my head above water.
It was a terrifying experience, and I thought I was going to drown. But thankfully, some locals who were fishing nearby saw what was happening and came to my rescue. They managed to pull me out of the water and revive me.
I was shaken by the experience. I realized how foolish I had been to jump into the river without checking the conditions first. I could have lost my life because of my impulsiveness.
From that day on, I started to think more carefully about my actions. I realized that being impulsive was not always a good thing and that I needed to be more mindful of the consequences of my decisions.
Indeed, it was the biggest lesson of my life.

it's always wise to think before you act because your actions have consequences whether you make a bad decision or a good one there are consequences either it will be rewarding or punishing.. In life we all make mistakes but it is up to us to learn from our mistakes and move forward and grow and become a better version of ourselves.

It is always advisable to think before you act on anything. In life, you will meet several such people who will try to fool you but it's you who should judge if you're going to get fooled or not. I am sorry that you jumped into the river and had to struggle to save your life but I am glad that you were rescued and that you learned a lesson from the incident.

I think it was because you got drunk on that day.

As the elders would say mistakes are our great teachers is correct. Yes we will never know what qe did wrong unless something bad happens to us. Good thing is that there were people around who can help you.

I understand what you are saying. I used to be a risk taker but the older I got I thought I have one or two pets at home and have to think about them so started to slow down and not take risks and start to think about the consquences. I bet that experience in the river really shook you up and helped you realize that your life style has to change and you did change it.
