Is cold water good for pregnant women?

it is widely said here that cold water makes the baby in the womb to grow fat there by making it difficult if not impossible during child birth, women are advised to stay away from it. your comment is needed.

I don't believe that cold water affects the baby's growth while in the womb as I haven't read nor found any scientific study proving this. But I know for a fact that eating too much sweets during pregnancy can cause the baby to grow (it has something to do with the carbohydrate content of sweets) thereby making it difficult to expel it.
