McDonald’s funny mistake & the rest of my day

My daughter asked me a week ago if I would drive her to meet a woman to buy some manga off of if she paid me for the gas. We lined things up for today at 1pm.
My husband wanted to go visit him mom and took the baby and my stepson while my older two kids and I went out
My son noticed when I made right turns that my turn signal was blinking very rapidly. I’ll have to get that fixed tomorrow before the big snow storm comes at night.
I had a $15 off coupon for Burger King but my internet wouldn’t work well and when I used their wifi inside it wouldn’t let me log into the app to use the code. I was very frustrated.
My son bought a few cds at a music store and then we went to Aldis and Walmart for groceries.
Our last stop before heading home was McDonald’s to use two coupons I had. One was for a free hamburger and the other for a free ice cream cone.
I told them I wanted the burger plain but would pay extra for bacon and cheese on it which is what my daughter wanted. I heard them ask if she wants bacon on the side and the cashier said no on it. I drove away and my daughter bit into it and discovered there was no burger at all.
I giggled the entire drive back thinking that was a really funny mistake they made. A burger plain means no onions, no ketchup no pickles. But it still means a burger between the buns!
I went in to the cashier I had just ordered from and said “I don’t know if I wasn’t specific enough about what I ordered but they didn’t put a burger inside just bacon and cheese.”
She took it to her boss who had helped her ring the order up a few minutes prior. The boss said “that’s not..” but I couldn’t make out the rest of what she said.
The cashier just came back with a fresh burger didn’t say a word and handed it to me but gave me an irritated look. Sorry kid you and the staff got the order very wrong not my problem I was nice about it she should have said she was sorry for the mixup. I thanked her and left. I can use good manners even if she doesn’t know how.
Photo is unrelated but is of the new magnetic strip my husband ordered to hang his knives up. One is new and he liked it enough he is going to replace the other two with that brand. It’ll look much better when the knives all match. I don’t like the white knife at all but I have other knives I use anyway.

@allknowing mine are very crooked right now I am assuming the kitten jumped up on the stove and batted at them. Not a bright idea

@allknowing it has holes in both sides, screw and the plastic things that go into sheetrock that the screws go into. That is what my husband used but it also came with double sided tape that looks sturdy. We felt safer choosing the screws.

@GardenGerty I think they can be a wise idea. I let him keep his knives on it though mine are fine where they are

@wolfgirl569 I rarely ever buy anything there so I haven’t experienced this before. My daughter likes McDonald’s better than Burger King. I prefer Burger King.

@wolfgirl569 I loved those super size fries when I was a teen at McDonald’s. Pretty much all my adult life though I have not liked them and prefer burger kings.

@shaggin I used to prefer McDonald's fries and Burger King hamburgers. Now we usually go to Burger King if we are going to do fast food

@Judyev I don’t think it matches the window frame next to it as much as I would have liked but I didn’t pick it out. I probably would have tried to find something a little more fancy even if it was just a nicer edging all around the outside.

I only order the fish burger from McDonald's. If I want a meat burger, I go to Wendy's or A&W.

@BarbaraPrz I don’t eat meat but my daughter says she likes how thin the burgers are at McDonald’s the thickness of other burgers make her gag. She didn’t eat meat for many years. The texture grossed her out.

Wow what a screw up. Glad you did not make it all the way home when you realized there was no burger on it I would have been very mad. Sorry to hear your app did not work for Burger King that is very frustrating when that happens. I hope your grocery shopping went well

@Tina30219 I was definitely glad we noticed it so soon if I had gone further and gotten on the highway it would been hard to turn around and go back.

I'm just shaking my head about the whole no burger thing. How could they think that wasn't a mistake?? Good grief

@shaggin I wonder if they do stuff like that on purpose or if it was a legitimate mistake.

@sol_cee when I ordered there was one person behind me that was all. When I went back a few minutes later to show her the mistake there was no one there at all. Plenty of time to apologize. Maybe they had lots of mobile orders to fill though who knows. Still only takes a second to apologize.

@DianneN my husband said they get to banged up in the drawer and he has to sharpen them too often so he bought this. Keeps us from cutting are fingers try to find the one we want in the drawer too but I don’t really care for it on the wall.

@1creekgirl I don’t usually hear people complain about McDonald’s around here but Dunkin I constantly see complaints about and I know if I go there my order probably will be awful.
