Social distancing

Social distancing took a toll on humanity. Hugs and shaking hands were frowned upon during the pandemic. It is so ingrained in me that even now I hesitate to shake hands or hug anyone. I feel uncomfortable to see anyone visiting us without a mask. I still prefer the buffet style for visitors rather than make them sit at the dining table. And finally even brids respected social distancing as you can see in the photo How is it with you? Are you back or still following pandemic protocol

Still wearing masks when we go shopping or in a crowd at all. The only people I ever hug are my wife and my daughter when I see her. Good shot of the birds there.

@allknowing I'm surprised how many still are where I live, not all older people either.

No social setbacks for me or my family. Lot of people here in the US still hug, shake hands. Might not do so if you know you are sick. I hug and kiss my kids all of the time usually every morning before they go off to school and the first time when they come home.

@allknowing Even with visitors or friend although I usually don't hug anyone without asking them even friends, but I don't have victors no need to at my house. People see people at work, in the store and so on every day of the week and they are strangers.NO mask are required here in the US unless you're going into a medical office. I don't touch strangers, but they might be touching things before I've touched no big deal.

What do you mean by buffet style instead of sitting at the dining room table? When I think of buffet style I think of food on a table people go and get what they want then go back and sit in their seats. But if visiting they would be sitting at the table with you to eat so I’m confused.

Most people seem to think that we are back to normal. I still respect pandemic protocol.

I do too but not as I used to For example I do not wash groceries and I do not insist those who visit wear the mask inside the house

I go out without a mask I don't go far and our streets are usually very empty and the store is not crowded but as I go used to it during the pandemic mostly stay in my apartment.

There are unvaccinated people around? It's better to follow protocols if you are in crowded places

Interesting thought - the last thing humanity needs is less connection to each other - less compassion, which social distancing might encourage. On the other hand, we could look at social distancing as a way of showing concern, consideration for each other? We may not be wise to get to close physically, but we can show concern and empathy in other ways.

Never followed social distancing. I don't see myself ever doing so. It's aunrealistic expiation for humanity, as while it sounds good in theory, in reality.... it doesn't really exist. not in a practical sense anyway.

As much as I am a hugger, it is only for close family during these times. I do not feel safe otherwise. We have never left home without wearing our masks, not in 3 plus long years. And we are fine with that, although we have had all of our covid vaccinations, we still feel safer with our masks, gloves and physical distancing.

Maintaining social distancing is good but at times you have to accept it. My classmate visited me on 2nd January 23 and hugged me before she left. I am safe and fine.

Yeah, those birds are way better than the people I know from where I live. Especially during the height of the pandemic, they do not adhere to the government's protocol on social distancing. But I think now is better and that protocols finally eased. I miss the hugs, and high fives.

A friend dropped by the other day and extended her hand. I unwillingly took it and that was the first time I shook anyone' s hand after the pandemic (lol)

I am. I still follow some pandemic protocol like wearing mask. In fact, I wear face mask everytime I go out even before pandemic begins. I am happy to practice that and I will keep that habit. Not just the pandemic we need to watch out, but the dust and haze, also some inconsiderate people who just sneeze and cough with no mask on.
