Do You Have A Chop Day?

United States
March 6, 2023 7:35am CST
I was reading a post about food, and I began to wonder if you have a day that you just chop foods, like peppers onions, celery. It would sure make it a lot easier if it was already chopped and measured. What is your take, do you have a prep day?

No, I prefer to chop vegetables just before using them.

@popciclecold If I can prepare a dish before, I usually freeze so I have something ready to eat in case I do not want to cook.

Yeah. Me too. But seeing those people trapped in their homes because of snow, makes me sort of panic.

This is a great idea but I don't do it much. We do chop up spring onions and freeze them in small containers. You can only buy it in big bunches and usually only need a small amount so that works for us. We also chop up parsley and freeze in small containers.

Better if it is done at the time of cooking.

I usually chop my vegetables just before I need them. But there are times when I chop onions and peppers and freeze them. Especially onions cause I use so much of them.

I don't think the freshness remains same if you chop veggies in advance.
