The current Air Force One and Two are giant Boeing 747s with a white and baby blue color scheme. Trump wanted to make his mark on them while negotiating the construction of new planes and wanted a red/white/blue scheme. Boeing has said that they got the bad end of the deal but now they are saying that the red/white/blue scheme has been rejected. It was going to cause too much heat drawn to parts of the plane which would have involved systems being redesigned on a project that was already over budget.
The new Air Force One/Two planes will look similar to the current ones but the light blue color will be a bit darker. I don't know why they changed it other than to make this administrations "mark" on them. I don't consider it an improvement but I'm sure it will become normal to my eye over time.
The USAF has revealed a new color scheme for the new Air Force One Boeing VC-25B jets under construction featuring a modernized version of the classic design with subtle change to shade of blue.

The change in the color scheme of Air Force One/Two is not the only case where political decisions affect the design of transportation for high-ranking officials. However, safety and functionality must be a priority. I hope that future changes will take these factors into account and meet professional requirements.
