This is another heartwarming story of animals interacting. This time it is about two large birds – a hawk and an eagle. The unfortunate red-tailed hawk had been struck by a car in August. He had a broken wing, trauma of the chest, and the crop (muscular pouch on the neck of the bird) had ruptured.
The hawk was brought to the Fresco Creek Wildlife Rehabilitation Center in Del Norte, Colorado. He miraculously recovered from his injuries. While at the facility a golden eagle didn’t know how to hunt prey so he could not be released into the wild.
The hawk and the eagle met and the hawk was able to teach the eagle how to hunt prey. Afterward the red-tailed hawk was released back into the wild. I think this is just an amazing story about how the two birds could understand each other and how one could help the other.
On Friday, Colorado Parks and Wildlife shared the story regarding the successful rehabilitation of a red-tailed hawk that was believed to be struck by a vehicle in August.

The red-tailed hawk is my favorite bird. What an amazing story. Thank you for sharing.
I need to make it out to The World Center for Birds of Prey here again. It's only 8 miles away. I haven't visited in several years now. This would be a great time too for the eggs will be hatching.
