Continued from Part 1
..."There's a cat under the table!
It was a very tiny kitten, probably not more than a few weeks old. We had no idea where he had come from, or why he was not with his litter. He seemed a bit fragile. Not quite frisky like you would expect a kitten to be.
Nonetheless, we thought if he stuck around with us, we'd keep him. We made a little spot for him and fed him some tuna and gave him some water. He didn't immediately take to it, but eventually we saw that at least the tuna was gone.
We named him Butch.
On day two he seemed unwell and really wasn't taking to food much. He slept a lot and really didn't move from the spot we made for him. On the morning of day three we took him to the vet deciding he needed some care.
He passed away, unfortunately, overnight. Even for the short time we had him around he had warmed our hearts, and we were happy that we could at least give him a good couple of days of special love and care.
...to be continued.

Oh no! That is very sad. Poor kitten. I wonder why he was on his own like that. What was the cause of his passing? Or is that story to be continued?

He had some kind of an infection and I guess when he ambled in to our warehouse it was already, unfortunately, too late. The only thing I can surmise is that mommy cat knew he was not going to make it and kicked him out of the litter so that she better tend to and care for the healthy ones. Something animals tend to do. Although, I would have thought the mommy cat would have killed him.
Either way he was on his own, found his way in, and we were intent on taking him in. He was really cute. It was very sad. He just didn't have a chance.

@porwest It was really nice of you to not kick him to the curb.

@lovebuglena How could anyone kick such a cutie such as Butch was to the curb?

Very sad story but perhaps for Butch it was better than suffering, I am sure that short time he knew he was loved,

How very sad. He must have been too young to be on his own. I'm so sorry!
