Things have been weird on my computer lately. Microsoft wants me to load Windows 11. I have not heard much good about it so I am trying to stay on Windows 10. After the last time I refused to change over, I have no internet. I have tried and had my son try. It just is not working but I connected to wifi which is working. I don't understand and wonder if the reason I don't get internet is because I did not change to Win 11. I have run out of ideas. What do you think I should or should not do? Is your internet weirded out?

The internet here is "iffy" at best. Recently, it was off for several days but my son saved me by installing wifi on the computer. Wifi still worked even without the internet being available.

@Shivram59 Wow, I thought your nation of India was not that far advanced. I did not know it was good for the internet. I don't know why ours is so bad. You pay ahead of time for the month and they probably don't really care because they already have your money.

@RubyHawk I hope so too. Do you have a friend who can look at your computer and see what the trouble could be? A lot of times, it is something simple.

My internet was lagging but I knew the issue. It was my router, so I bought a new one. Hope you get your internet resolved soon.

I am pretty sure the problem is not because you refused to upgrade Windows.

It is just weird. I can get wifi but not the internet. People are complaining about this internet provider all the time. I don't know why they can't get their stuff together.

@LadyDuck It is not my account. I am staying with someone who has the internet and I do not have the authority to talk to them. I can't talk to the person about the internet without her getting angry and upset. So I just deal with things as they come up.

Is not upgrading your Windows causing the problem really? I don't think so. Maybe its just internet issues.

Someone just told me that one of the cats has been chewing on the internet cords. I'm sure that does not help my computer issues.

@aureliah The cord is chewed in half. There may be other problems with the computer but the broken cord is hard evidence against the cat.

@akalinus If its the computer that has a problem, then the chewing is not an excuse

Way back some years ago, I upgraded from Windows 8.1 to 10. That crashed my PC and I had to buy a new one. Now, they want me to upgrade to Windows 11 and are talking about Windows 12. And they wonder why I won't.

I think some of the component in laptop or pc not support the newer windows so when your upgrade, that's make your pc have some error. This is just happen in some pc or laptop but I won't upgrade my win 10 to 11.

I don't plan to but I think they can force it on you at some point. If I ever get a new computer, I will get one with Windows 11 or 12 if it is out by then. I plan to use this computer as long as possible and keep doing work arounds or whatever I need to do to keep it going another day or month.

I think I have windows 11. Not sure. I have had internet problems too with the Wifi going in and out. I think my problem is where I am at the moment. Sometimes the wifi doesn't work in the living room.

I have trouble like that also. A lot of times, the wifi is turned off at night for no reason at all.

I can't imagine that not changing over would have any effect on your internet service.

I've had computer issues for the past month and haven't been on MyLot. Can you call your internet service provider?

That's why I always turn off the auto update option in the system using the "services" option. Doing this helps a lot !

@Adie04 Just as I learn to use something on the net, they change it. Then, I have to start all over again.

I don't think your internet problem is caused by your decline to upgrade to Windows 11. Microsoft wants me to do that all the time, but I'm still using 10. No problem with my internet.
