In my case, I've gone through on-site classes or as they would refer to it as face-to face since going online back then wasn't as in need compared to how the pandemic just instantly made it essential for learners to continue learning at the safety of their homes while retractions brought by the pandemic was still prevalent.
Somehow, restrictions have become lenient, and some educational institutions are back with the on-site classes, yet we can never deny that other schools are still good with the online classes, or even some have gone hybrid with both on-site and online classes for their students. Of course, this is still an on-going process of adapting and improving for all concerned. You can just imagine the schedule students these days have to juggle
Here are some advantages and disadvantages of online classes in the Philippines:
Advantages:
Accessibility: Online classes allow students to attend classes from anywhere, as long as they have access to the internet. This is particularly advantageous for students who live in remote areas or have mobility issues.
Flexibility: Online classes offer students the flexibility to learn at their own pace and schedule. This can be beneficial for students who have other commitments, such as work or family obligations.
Cost-effective: Online classes often cost less than traditional in-person classes, as there are no expenses for classroom maintenance and equipment.
Technology-based Learning: Online classes use various digital tools that help students learn better through the use of multimedia and interactive online learning platforms.
Disadvantages:
Limited Interaction: Online classes limit face-to-face interaction with teachers and classmates, which can lead to a lack of personal interaction and support.
Technology barriers: Not all students have access to reliable internet and necessary devices to participate in online classes. Also, some students may lack the technical skills required to use online learning platforms effectively.
Distractions: Students attending online classes from home may face distractions from family members or other environmental factors that could affect their concentration and focus.
Assessment challenges: Online assessments can be challenging to design, administer and monitor, leading to potential issues of academic integrity and fairness.
Overall, while online classes in the Philippines offer a number of advantages, they also have some limitations that need to be addressed to ensure that students have the best learning experience possible.

I have been teaching English online since 2009. My students always agreed that they benefited a lot from those classes.

Hello @aninditasen!
It is really nice to hear from your students, even the former ones who are already in their selected field or profession that they really benefitted from what we were able to teach them as their teachers. :)

@ratyz5 I think both the teacher and the student can teach and learn in peace when they are online.
