I have to return my laptop

My laptop is considered cheap. It is under $500. I bought it a few days ago. If you spend less money you get a slow laptop. This laptop is very slow and it remains stuck when I open many tabs. I have to open tabs because this is my job. My laptop doesn't have a dedicated graphics card. It has an integrated card. Yesterday I couldn't turn it on. The screen was black.

You said it was an Asus laptop, didn't you?
If that's correct, then make sure it's unplugged and then press and hold the start button for 40 seconds. That should force a restart.

@Mike197602 Asus are a good brand but it is possible to get one that doesn't have the memory to run everything you want.

@DaddyEvil yes, but I looked back at her discussions and she said there was no windows.
Of course, you can get a laptop with too low of a ram to do stuff but even basic ones will do the basics!!!

After about a month of research I bought an ASUS...they're a good brand in my opinion.
Admittedly I got more than I wanted and spent more but after a while I'm getting used to it.
It takes time when you get a new lappy

What you spend is somewhat important but it is not the be all and end all.
My ASUS was around £1000 and it is good.
There are plenty of laptops under $500 that will do a good job it depends what you use it for.
Mine has a 1tb ssd, 16gb ddr5 ram and ryzen 9 processor and it's way more than I need.
What do you have?
If you have many open tabs and are doing stuff like video editing then you'll for sure need some basic minimums in terms of power.
Often it's better to spend more to future proof to an extent...if it's for your job then really your company should give you a free laptop.

@dya80dya I did a very quick search and it may be an issue depending on what you want to do.
"Integrated graphics used to have a bad reputation, but they've improved a lot in recent years. They're now more than good enough for general computing, including some casual gaming and 4K video watching, but still struggle in some areas. They aren't suitable for working with graphics-intensive programs."

As far as RAM goes bigger is better but 8 should be enough for general use, I have 16gb ddr5 which is way more than I need and the reason my laptop was more expensive.
If you can return yours and get a refund maybe that's a good idea then look at getting a better one??

So, what's your plan? Exchanging it for a better one paying extra money or asking for the refund??

I thought Usd 500 should give you a good laptop. At least that is the case here but you will find that in some scenarios, they are refurbished.

Sorry to hear that.
This day app is gething heavy so you must buy a laptop minimum intel i3 gen 12, or ryzen 3 gen 6.
I have old laptop, Lenovo whit intel i5 gen 6 and still working really well. But i've been upgrade the ram and replace the storage from hhd to ssd.
