I'm Related to Princess Diana??

That's news to me, but I got an email today from "Family Search" going back seven generations that seems to prove it. It agrees with the information in that manila envelope from my sister in 1999 that went back about five generations on my father's side, same names, birthdates, etc.
Several of those generations were dirt farmers in North Carolina, Tennessee and Texas.
The site seems to be legitimate, owned and funded by the LDS church, which seems to do genealogy on everyone.
This relationship, if it's true, really has no meaning to me at all and certainly wouldn't buy me cup of tea or a free brew in a London tavern,
Any famous relatives or outlaws in your family tree?

That's the only one I ever heard of, but there was a man named Pink Higgins in Texas who got a lot of notoriety.

@rakski Oh no, he wasn't famous, just a rancher from Texas back in the 1880s or so who had a big feud with some people who stole cattle.

That's true that you are not going to get any benefit from it but still, it looks good that is related to a princess family.
I remember a few years ago I read in the newspaper that a relative of Muslim emperor Aurangzeb was selling tea on roadside as he had no other profession or money to feed his family.

@JamesHxstatic Yes, that's terrible.
Do you know Aurangzeb?

@sjvg1976 No, but that's terrible thing to happen to anyone. I just read a little about Aurangzeb and it seems that some liked him and some didn't, as with all rulers.

Not that I know of, but if you go back far enough it seems like everyone is related.

@JamesHxstatic Yes, one of my Grandmother's sisters was really interested and into researching the line that went back through their Grandmother (my Great Grandmother).

@LeaPea2417 That's great. I had a distant grandfather & grand uncle who did too. I wrote about that a couple of weeks ago.

I have never been interested to know if I am related to famous people or to outlaws. I know that my husband is related to a Prince (not as famous as Lady Diana), because he found a document in his grandfather home. He also did not care to know more.
If you are interested this is the Princess Diana Family Tree.

Thanks @LadyDuck, but I am I'll treat that email as a novelty, since if I were English, I would not be happy supporting that archaic system.

Stuff like that doesn't bring in any money but they're still interesting to know.
Supposedly, my family is related to Jesse James... I don't know if that's true or not. Just something my sister found when she was doing our family tree fifteen or so years ago.

The only famous, really infamous one I knew about was a man named Pink Higgins in Texas that had a big feud with some cattle rustlers and ended up shooting several. I have a book about him.

@DaddyEvil In either Waco or Lampasas, there was quite downtown gunfight. The other family involved in the feud eventually left for Idaho. Pink had a son, a lawyer, I think who was shot through a hotel window, if I remember correctly some years later. I think there is some info on the internet.

I am the Great Great Grandson of James Fergus, a 19th Century settler and rancher in Montana. As family legend has it, he allowed a neighbor to use his water when he (Fergus) lived in Moline Illinois. The fella, named John Deere, was trying to start a plow factory. Frostbite Falls Minnesota, where Rocky and Bullwinkle are from, is actually Fergus Falls, named after him.
