The late lunch was a success.

Humberto and Dixie arrived late, but they arrived.
I placed the eggs en cocotte in the oven when Dixie called me so the yolk was a little too hard (I like it runny) because they stopped in the middle of their trip here to buy the most incredible chocolate mint ice cream.
On seeing the ice cream I decided not to eat too many chicken wings. I´m glad I didn´t because Humberto liked them so much that he ate a lot of them. In fact he only left 2 so I packed them to take to his home.
I offered Humberto my bed for a nap and talked with Dixie at the dining room while he slept.
I asked Dixie if she could go with me to the appointment to the gastroenterologist on Thursday. She said fine so I´ll go on Wednesday to sleep at her house. I´ll tell Anita to leave earlier and go to my dear friends´ home.
I will now bring a cup of tea to my room. Another gift from Dixie´s. She found my favorite tea (Lapsang Souchong) and she bought some for Humberto as it is his favorite too and gave me some.

I'm glad the dinner and visit was such a success!
And who could say not to your favorite tea?

It is a smoked tea that I drink with no sugar or milk added.

@DaddyEvil I can´t drink tea with sugar. It reminds me when I was small and I had tummy ache. They would not let me have any good thing to eat or drink and I could only drink weak tea with sugar. It is like your relation to rice. For me, weak teat with lots of sugar make me remember vomiting in the toilet with my mother holding me from the back. I always thought that if she let me go, I fall into the toilet. YUCK!

As this is a check out that Humberto wanted after I had that awful pain of IBS I´m a bit worried. I have had IBS since my early childhood but this was more painful and I am old now.

@LadyDuck I discovered many years ago that I had polyps. Those have to be checked all the time as some can become cancerous. I haven´t checked many medical problems since the pandemia started.

@marguicha - Humberto is right to suggest to check it. Aging all problems can become more serious.

@JudyEv My belly has not been perfect ever since I had that virus last year. But Dixie said that tha horrible pain I had was not a virus but my IBS. Still I dread it.

These friends are now (and for a long time) my adopted family. I have several good friends (5 or 6, no more) but I consider Humberto and Dixie my true brother and sister. And I consider her daughters my family too.

@MarieCoyle I treasure a card they sent me for my birthday when we were in quarantine. The gift was made of delicious cheeses and hams but the best was that they wrote "For OUR Marga".

I had never tried that Ice cream. It reminded me of the delicious "After Eight" cookies.

I had never tried it. I think that from now on I will always leave a place in my freezer for it.
