I had Irish Potato Candy for the first time over 20 years ago. It was at my aunt's house and back when I was still into sweets. We were all together--possibly for my birthday party--and she produced the candy which truly looked like tiny little potatoes. In reality it was a coconut and cream cheese concoction rolled in ground cinnamon. I love anything coconut so of course I loved it. I texted her to ask about her making them this year and she said (a few days ago) that she was making them today. She told me to stop by my other aunt's house after my massage to get my present and to get some. As we sat and talked today she told me that she had a friend who always got them from some candy shop like an hour away and that she had never made them until today. I had no idea. I had always assumed she made them in the first place. Anyway she gave me a somewhat large container of them and said to share them with coworkers tomorrow. I was like "hell no!" but that was before I saw the container. I do like them and enjoy coconut but there's no way I can eat that many in the suggested 5 days. Sooooo she wins and I will keep a handful for myself and leave the rest for coworkers in the teachers' room.
