Hello mylotters, I am getting ready to do the CSPA test for Tafe. Its a basic assessment of literacy, numeracy and spelling. Should be done not too long after it starts. After I complete the test I am going to apply for the Certificate 3 in Pathology collection straight away. Why am I going back to education so soon? I am losing my mind not having something intellectually stimulating to do. Work For the Dole is great... not that I am acquiring skills or much experience but I am meeting people and interacting with others so that lessens the absolute mental destruction wreaking havoc on my mental health. I'll of course be around after the test ends so I shall catch youlotters later.

@Fa_Maverick I hated when I had tests like that! I took one certification exam once that was scheduled to be 4 hours long, and the examiner told everyone that it would take the full 4 hours to complete the exam. I was done with it in an hour, and then I started panicking afterward that I got every question wrong. I ended up getting an almost perfect score on it thought. So, did you go back and re-read every question 15 times to make sure you read it correctly?

It was so easy the "no go back and read the question another 15 times because you must have read it wrong cause the test is easy" nagging started... That was fun.

My brain isn't nearly as fried as when I would do exams for uni so that is good. I need to ask if Cert 3 is subsidised for the full-year course and not just the 6-month course. Granted if I can get enough credit for prior learning maybe just maybe it will end up being 6 months anyway.

Nah it's just to see where you are at with literacy numeracy and writing. Its a core admission requirement for fee free courses at Tafe.

It's great that you continue to pursue education even while on unemployment benefits. I hope you pass the CSPA test successfully and obtain your certificate. Remember that taking care of your mental health is also very important. Wishing you success!
