How I spent Saint Patrick’s day plus a stomach bug

My son forgot his medicine this morning so I had to have him come home from school to take it. It was during band class and it seems anytime I have to get him out for an appointment it’s always during band. It’s his favorite class so I felt bad but it was fast so he didn’t miss much.
My house was a mess of stuff I was prepping to cook, dirty pans to be washed, toys of the babies and things my oldest daughter was getting rid of to be donated when my sister in law dropped by with a half dozen donuts from Dunkin. The baby was tired and didn’t want to be held by her.
My stepson came home from school angry because he locked a kid in a closet and the kid flipped out and went to the principal so now he has ISS on Monday. I can understand how the kid reacted even if my stepson thought it was just a joke he and his friend play on all the students in the class. I would have panicked if I was in the kids shoes. Apparently from what the principal told my husband this kid is picked on constantly so it was a really bad idea to do this to that poor kid.
I made Green pudding for dessert which was layers of vanilla pudding milk green dye and whipped cream mixed, toffee bits and crushed Oreos. I was supposed to make Irish soda bread but didn’t make the buttermilk in time so I’ll make the bread tomorrow to go with the leftovers. I made Special Mashed Potatoes and my husband and I both had a hand in making the corned beef with carrots, onions and cabbage.
My husband came home from work not feeling well and was running to the bathroom and out the door to vomit for a few hours. He didn’t get to eat any of the Saint Patrick’s day meal. Now my stepson has gotten sick twice too. I’m hoping the rest of us stay healthy especially the baby.
Photo is of the donuts my sister in law brought. I don’t usually post more then once a day and always responding back before making a nap post but if I wind up not being here it’ll be because I’m sick too so figured I should post to give a heads up.

@allknowing thank you friend nice of you take the time to read my post. I did wind up very sick. About 9 pm my stomach started swelling and feeling nauseated. I went to bed at 12:30 but was cold and achy then started getting sick at 2am. I got to sleep at 4 and when the baby woke me up I started getting sick again. I haven’t eaten yet but just got a warm bath and my ashes are a little better.

@allknowing I have absolutely no idea. The three of us haven’t been out in public together at all. No one has come here that’s been sick and we all ate different foods so it can’t be that either. I’m truly baffled.

How young is your stepson. I wish the situation can be resolved well. I wish the stepson realized it's not also good to do that. While others may take it as kid stuff others.may consider it bullying.

@florelway yes I’d definitely think it bullying if someone did that to my son. I’m going to talk to my stepson about apologizing to the boy. My stepson is 16.

@florelway my stepson is just mad the kid turned him in and he got in trouble. When you do something like that you have to expect there could be consequences.

@shaggin That's the best approach for now. I know your stepson is also worried. I remember when I was 12 and one teacher got mad at me because I commented on something, though she was.not supposed to get mad I also was upset the whole time.

@RebeccasFarm my stepson got sick too but I got it the worst of three of us. I’ve been on the couch or in bed most the day. I feel better I’m no longer getting sick but I am so achy.

@RebeccasFarm yes me too I never lay around like this. I only managed to get one load of laundry washed and dried today. It’s cloth diapers and I’ll worry about putting them away tomorrow when I need to use the dryer. For now they can just sit in there.

@shaggin Oh no Shanny I was hoping you or the baby wouldn't get it oh dear. There is always sickness around. I wonder what it is..some sort of bug.
I hope you will feel better soon.
I hate being that sick to have to lay around.
It is so frustrating.

I suffer of claustrophobia, I would have panicked and possibly fainted should someone had loked me in a closet. I understand why the kid reported the accident.
I am sorry your husband is not well and your stepson also had problems. I hope the rest of your family will be fine.

@Ladyduck my stepson said they have done it to all the kids all year and this one just freaked out. I told him I probably would have reacted the same way he could have had claustrophobia. I told him I would have been terrified myself. When I asked later who the boy was I told my husband and he felt really bad said he knows the family and it’s a really nice kid that is a little on the spectrum. Holy god I can’t even imagine doing that to a kid with that.
It hit me last night at 2am. I’ve gotten in the worst. I fell asleep a little after for and woke up sick at 8am when the baby woke up and I tried walking downstairs. My husband let me sleep and took care of the baby. I slept until noon.

@shaggin I suffer of claustrophobia, my brother locked me inside a room when I was about 6 years ago. There was a glass door and I broke the door to get out and badly cut my hand. No one should have consider locking someone inside a room "a game".
Oh no, I am so sorry you do not feel well. I hope you feel better today and that your baby will not get sick.

@GardenGerty oh I got it all right it’s been awful I was the sickest of the three who have caught it here. After 10 hours I’m no longer running to the bathroom but am still achy.

@wolfgirl569 my sister in law with the lupus who had shingles told me it’s been the worst 6 weeks in her house two stomach bugs, the flu, a virus, shingles etc

@RasmaSandra the odd thing is my husband started getting sick around 3, my stepson by 7 and me by 9. We were not exposed to anyone who was sick and didn’t go out in public together at all. We also didn’t eat the same foods so I can’t understand how we all wound up sick around the same time unless the incubation period was literally just hours.
