I ran yelling barefooted.

I was resting on by bed when the earth started to tremble.
S**T!!! I yelled and ran. The flip flops were there but my feet were trembling so much that I could not put them on.
Afterward, when the news said that it had been 5.5 Richter I thought that it had not been so big. But the noise was big and it was a long one.
I ran through the burning terrace and the dry grass.
I never know when the earth stops as I go on trembling for a longer time. I waited while Luna looked at me a bit confused. She is not afraid of quakes.
I returned to the house, put on my flip flops and went to eat my lunch. It was very delicious and it did not burn

Hearthquakes are always scary, I have felt one years ago.
I woke up and saw the walls shaking for 1 or 2 seconds.
Glad lunch was delicious :)

I feel many as this is the country with more earthquakes in the world. This one was scary because it was long and noisy.

Is your area near Hills?
Areas near the hills can ofter have a bigger impact of the earthquakes!

I have the main room in the firstv floor of my house because I fear quakes. That was before I decided to live only in the first floor because of my feet.

Luna hates plane sounds. I guess she percieves sounds I don´t. But she only looked at me as if she did not understand my terror. Claudia called me later. She hadn´t felt it as she was driving. But Sofía called, worried for her dogs and cats, and Claudia knows that I´m not a friend of quakes. But my house is absolutly quake proof for a much bigger earthquake.

I´m not sure that I enjoyed my lunch as I should have. It was very good but I was still scared after the quake. Now, when I went to scrape the rest, maybe to eat with bread later, I like the spoon with the mushroom and chicken sauce and it was more than delicious.

@marguicha I'm sure the earthquake was terrifying and you weren't thinking about food when you ate lunch.
I'm quite sure what you made was delicious.

Oh! Glad that it was not so big and all is safe. I am petrified of any news of natural disasters these days. I just made a post about earthquake tremors felt in some parts of India today. I was worried about my daughter who is so far. That place received a massive tremor.

My country is prepared for quakes of this magnitude (5.5 Richter). I wasn´t because I was half asleep.

Keep your Skechers that slip on easily right by your bed. I do that in case son needs me and I have to really hurry. I hope you do not have another earthquake, I know they are frightening.

We have earthquakes in my country every single day. It has been a long time since I was that frightened, maybe because I was half asleep and it had a lot of noise. The Skechers were on the other side of the bed. Typical

So scary! Glad you and your lunch were okay. They seem to last forever, don't they?
I remember two earthquakes. One was early morning and I was about eight years old. The second was when I was in my mid-thirties at the apartment. Both were about the same-- about a 5.0 or 5.5. We haven't had a good-sized one around here for years. But, I am always thinking about the MEGA valcano near us at the Yellowstone Park that could go anytime. I'd rather have a earthquake any day.

We don´t have active volcanos where I live. But father south, where my eldest daughter lives, there are lots.

OMG! You must've been so terrified. But at least you knew what to do. I experienced an earthquake once a very long time ago. It woke me up and I was so confused of what was happening I sat on the stairs until my sister screamed at me to hide under the table. Does it happen much there?

The earthquakes of this magnitude don´t cause any damage in my country as our buildings are made to resist them. I was scared because I was half asleep and it was long and noisy.

@marguicha It must be very hard not knowing when they will strike or how bad it will be. You can't trust the earth under your feet.

Earthquakes are scary. The one we had based in this county and felt all over the East coast was a 6.4 or 5. What scared me even worse, was the aftershocks though since they would happen at night. Some were when I was in bed, and I felt very vulnerable.
