It was a sad morning

We have these live cables propped up on pillars in front of our gate Birds mostly crows perch on them. They are live wires and if two wires touch each other current is produced at that spot.
And that happened yesterday morning when a crow got electrocuted and lay dead on the ground In minutes there were countless crows mourning his death The cacophony they created was too much. This happens often and the authorities seem to be oblivious
I mourned with the crows. That sight was too much for me.
Do you have live wires hanging loose?

I am sure we do. But, when we have a storm we can report them and if power isn't already off, then they can cut it off. We try to keep the risk to a minium.

The entire place has such a system and to make it under ground will be very expensive.

Here we are connected with these cables and it is the government that should be concerned

@allknowing I wouldn't be able to live near there as I would be upset all the time and trying to save the animals. Some people just don't think when they building new equipment in the neighborhoods.

All of the overhead wires are live here too, but they are strung tightly apart.
Sometimes a falling branch will cause them to touch and cause a short in the system, and we will lose power for a while.
If two birds, sitting on two wires, which are not touching, they are ok, but if the two birds touch each other, both will get electrocuted then.
