We live in an era where Artificial Intelligence is improving daily, and it is a bit terrifying.
I have talked with the famous ChatGPT, and is incredible how that thing works. It states that it cannot think or feel emotions, but it's responses are showing that it can synthesize better as many people.
I have also seen videos with robots as waiters, which means they have replaced people who earned a living.
Being able to communicate so well, to think and to do the work of people, I think business owners will tend to reduce long term expenses by implementing artificial intelligence.
What is your take on AI? Are you afraid that in the near future, many jobs will disappear because of it?

Robots could only operate when people are behind them. People make these robots work. But used intelligently these AI discoveries could help a lot in reducing work, and of course, human errors caused by repetitive methods. In the clinical laboratory, we have automated robots who perform the pipetting and this makes the med, tech's work easier, and faster and keeps them free from contracting contagious diseases. Scientists are now trying to create a machine that could also do phlebotomy (blood extraction) but I'm afraid, I would opt out of this machine when letting my blood be extracted.

Of course, they can improve our lives, but there is a danger in it, as shown in the movie Terminator. That may look like science fiction today, but who knows?

@rappeter13 Yes, there will always be disadvantages. So, the negative effects must first be studied thoroughly and extensively, the disadvantages should be minimal and not harmful to humans. Just like driving, people prefer driving because the pros outweigh the cons (car accident, etc).

@Jenaisle That is a valid point. Cars have definitely helped us a lot.

This can be a good perspective. I hope that we will have only benefits from it.

But what will happen with so many people who earn their living through works that will be made by robots? I think that billions of people will lose their jobs.

The only thing we can do is do work that cannot be replaced by artificial intelligence. Some positions will definitely disappear in the future.

Don't you think that eventually AI will develop own thinking and will?

@rappeter13 There may be such achievements in the infinite future, but so far, independent thinking has not been achieved

AI is slowing taking over but it can't really replace humans this is because of the many reasons like people still need a touch of humans such as human natural voice compared to voice over talent for instance
