What Do You Think of Clingy Women?

I was watching this drama series in which the woman was desperately clinging to the man, although the man has told her directly that he has no feelings for her. I was thinking are there really women out there who do this?
Based on my experience, many of the women I know, gave up once the man says he doesn't love them or had stopped loving them.
This is a question for both males and females. What do you think of clingy women?

I had a girlfriend once who was clingy... Even after I told her I wasn't interested in dating her anymore, she kept trying to make excuses to spend time with me. I got tired of that really fast.
In my ex-girlfriend's case, in my opinion, she needed to grow up and learn to stand on her own before, hopefully, she started dating someone else. (Yes, I know I don't sound nice right now, and I'm sorry for that... but it's the truth.)

As I was watching the movie, I was thinking to myself about the same thing. Does the woman have no pride at all? I mean if someone doesn't love and want you back, why cling to him? Who is he anyway? 
. There are billions of good men out there who could be worthy of my love. Yes, there are times that you have to be brutal, so the other party could understand you well and get the message correctly.

@Jenaisle Yes, no pride in self... That's a good way to put it, in my opinion.
Thank you for understanding what I was trying to convey. I hate hurting people but there was no other way to make her understand.

@DaddyEvil It would hurt her more if you kept her hanging without being candid about your feelings. I hope you could now find someone you truly love.

Yes, I have a girl next to me, and the boy has made it clear that he wants to separate from the girl, but the girl cannot accept it. She has been contacting the boy in the hope that he can change his mind

I don't mind if somebody wants to spend time with me. Attachment is good, in my opinion.

It's a shame that clingy women have feelings for the man but the man is not interested.
