Traveller's palm

It is called traveller's palm as it serves travellers when they are thirsty and find no water anywhere The root of the leaves of the traveller's contains water and that is where the travellers get their water needs fulfilled. The palm has a strange look in that the trunk looks like that of a coconut tree and the leaves resemble the banana plant We had these in our garden years ago and one year there was heavy draught here and that is the year these trees died. That's a very nice ornamental plant. We have many kinds of palm plants here I just can't recall if we have one like this. So it's called Traveler's Palm. I always have a water vessel with me when I travel.
