Trump finally indicted. Fireworks and gunshots in the Northern California suburbs?

I only heard about the Trump indictment as I was heading home from teaching at Guitar Center today. I was listening to KCBS, our local news radio station. It was already about 5:30 PM, our time. This is an important day in American history. Democracy may prevail, at least for now. But I don't want to editorialize. I thought I'd go back to my journalistic roots and report objectively what I experienced in the East Bay of the San Francisco Bay Area this afternoon and evening. On my way home, I heard no honking of horns, nor waving of American flags from passing vehicles. Life seemed to be going on as usual. As I sit here at my computer, facing East toward the "poorer" neighborhoods sprawling across the Eastern part of the East Bay, I do not hear fireworks going off, nor small caliber weapons being fired into the night sky. All is quiet, as it it usually is on a Thursday night. Where were you when you heard of the Trump indictment? What was your initial reaction? Do you think he will turn himself in early next week? Do you think he will post something bizarre tonight, trying to grift more money from his remaining supporters? Do you think he will flee the Country, as some have suggested? (I do not believe so.) Our lives many not be perfect. But we DO live in interesting times.

No one is above the law--so this will be interesting --awful, but interesting--there will be other indictments--we'll have to wait to see how they play out--justice turns slowly--so it will be at least a year before trial--

@TheHorse He can and will run for president. He could be elected. I do think there is a significant mental health issue--and it seems to be getting worse--it could be dementia coupled with some sort of delusional disorder, all over a personality disorder.

@divalounger If they get the help they need. I know someone who suffers from dyslexia who still suffers from reading comprehension issues in his 50s.

I highly doubt anything will come from it. I have a feeling he will be running next year.

@thislittlepennyearns LOL. You know I love Mark Twain. But your irony is too dry, even for me.

@TheHorse You look at is as pessimism. I look at is as he would do so much better for our country than Biden has. I am a small business owner. Of two businesses. Biden has killed small businesses. And the stunt he pulled this week after all the shootings is disgusting. I would much rather have Trump back.

I was right here at my computer listening to my political news. Yah! I'm so happy it's not just a misdemeanor and that there are 30 counts. Of course, he will find every way possible to delay, delay, delay. The real celebration will come when we see that he gets some time in jail and not just a slap on the wrist Waiting patiently as I am sure many others are too. He"s supposed to turn himself in next Tuesday around 2:15p. Yes, interesting times indeed.

@celticeagle Interesting. The indictment is still sealed, so far as I know. I wonder if that was "leaked" info.

I heard the "30 or 40 counts" thing too, but I'm not sure where. Do you remember where you heard that?

@LadyDuck We'll see what happens. I did some internet trolling last night, but didn't learn much new. Trump will probably turn himself in for booking early next week.

I was at home. And I think I was scrolling through my Instagram feed when I found out. I was shocked. He never gets a break. They will probably be coming after him in his grave too.

I wonder too how such a kind-hearted, giving, and humble (not to mention intelligent) man could have so many people grumpy with him. It's just not fair.

@TheHorse But it's not like he'd be put into the general population of a high security prison where he could be shived in the shower.

I don't have any reaction as such. Yet again it demonstrates that law takes time but in the end , the guilty do get their punishment. How the things would go from here is not so certain though.

I seen it online first. Don't know if he will just turn himself in but he won't run from this. He don't think they have anything to lock him up with. If someone puts more serious charges on him then he might take off
