Arson is something to be feared and can be an effective weapon to destroy property. It has been a very effective tool in protest, for example draft card and flag burning during the Vietnam War, or as a way to make a social statement, like setting police cars and buildings on fire during the recent summer riots. In addition, nature itself has used fire to wipe out houses trapping people in their homes to die. Thankfully, these "Burning and Fire titled" songs are not one's of destruction but ones that describe something less harmful. So, as we end this series, let's see which songs made the "a hunk, a hunk of burning love" list this week... Comments, musings, and your own favorite weapon songs and trivia welcome. 1. "We Didn't Start the Fire"- Billy Joel -A song which is a checklist of all the major events that occured during the Baby Boomer generation made for an interesting tune. It was sung in a rapid lyric style reminescent of Bob Dylan's "Subterranean Homesick Blues." The song was a #1 hit for Joel. What's your favorite Billy Joel song? So many to choose among but mine are "Say Goodbye to Hollywood and Only the Good Die Young." 2. "Burnin' For You"- Blue Osyter Cult -Along with Black Sabbath, Blue Öyster Cult was one of the first heavy metal bands. Those who follow heavy metal may know their hit (Don't Fear) The Reaper." Fun fact: the first verse of this song mentions the word "Home" eight times followed by "Time" another eight. But it works! 3. "Crossfire"- Stevie Ray Vaughan -A great blues song by a legendary blues guitarist, RIP. TRIVIA CHALLENGE ***Now for our trivia music challenge for those who like to play along. See if you can guess these selections. Words in "quote marks" provide valuable clues! Name this week's tune, artist or facts: 1. MUSIC VIDEO FUN- try to figure out the answers to these trivia questions by watching this week's Billy Joel video song. No musical knowledge needed... -What was the "pregnant" woman eating at the "kitchen table?" -Name the "popular magazine" the man is reading with "Joe Di Maggio on the cover?" -What did the "headline read" on the "Daily Tribune" newspaper? -What was the name of the "TV show" on the kid's "lunch box?" -What popular "50's toy" did the girl have "around her waist?" -Did anything else stand out in the video that you noticed? Extra bonus points if you name them. 2. This "iconic Country" musician "Walks the Line" in both movies and song. The artist even "married" into a country royalty family when he took a gal named "Carter" for his wife. This artist goes by a few nicknames like "JR" and "The Man in Black," and he gained notoriaty for performing for "convicts" at "Folsom Prison." He recorded this song his wife co-wrote which describes their relationship. She said being around this "Country star" and his wild man lifestyle was like being surrounded by a "______ of fire." And it "burns, burns, burns." -Do you know the name of this Country artist and his song with "fire in the title?" 3. "Burning Down the House" became this New Wave bands only top ten hit in 1983. Some of the band's other classic tunes like "Psycho Killer", "Life During Wartime", and "Once in a Lifetime" had very unique lyrics to them as does this song. The lead singer has a very unconventional voice and delivery, making him an unlikely frontman. If you ever saw the group's videos or live performances his facial and body gestures are quite strange. -Do you know the name of this band? Now "don't get burned" when answering these trivia questions. If you're stuck and need additional hints just let me know in your response. I'll be glad to supply one. Or, as The Staple Singers would say, "I'll Take You There." Thanks for reading and responding to my music post!!! I will return with a new edition soon. Hope you can wait till then, lol. Stay tuned... Source- Wikipedia & songfacts.com

You "burned that quiz to a crisp." A fun little brain teaser can provide a pleasant diversion Fun facts: In 2004, a company wanted to use Cash's song "Ring of Fire" to promote hemorrhoid-relief products. Did you know that Billy Joel was once married to model Christie Brinkley. Enjoy a blast from the past... Some inspirational soul music!

Stevie was killed in a helicopter crash on August 27, 1990, moments after sharing the stage (and a guitar jam) with Eric Clapton, Robert Cray and his brother, Jimmy Vaughan.
