Cheap at Twice the Price

I've been seeing a lot of ads for Craftsy on Facebook over the last month. They've been pushing an introductory offer for National Craft Month--get a full year of their premium membership for the low, low price of $1.49. (With convenient automatic renewals at the much higher normal price at the end of that year, of course. 
)
Today I finally clicked through one of them. Summer's coming up, my teen's been obsessed with drawing lately, her younger sister's all about whatever crafts she can get her hands on. At a buck forty-nine there has to be something worthwhile there for them.
It was a good price to start with, but before I could commit my TopCashback extension popped up with an offer of 21% cash back if I activated it by clicking through their affiliate link.
I did, of course, but as soon as my mouse hit that pop up window the Craftsy site went "WAIT! Don't leave us!" and offered to cut my already low price by another 50%. So I paid a grand total of $0.82 with tax, and I might get $0.15 of that back via TopCashback if the special offer didn't disqualify me for the cash back. 
)

@DaddyEvil I've kinda sorta fallen down the rabbit hole of AI image generators this weekend... it's a little less time consuming to play around with writing prompts for them than it is to bust out all of the supplies needed to paint or draw something. 
This one's actually a "dud" because it didn't quite match up with what I told DALL-E 2 to give me... still neat, though!

@yukimori I totally understand. I did that when Pretty was younger. I'd make myself notes about things people told me that I thought she'd like and then forget until it was too late.

I hope you just didn't get scammed. given you don't have to be charged an exhorbant amount of money to get scammed. Marketing at a to good to be true price is often another way scammers get money.

Nope, I have full access to everything they promise with their premium membership. Apparently they're not great about processing cancellations, but I used a virtual card that's now locked and won't allow further charges so I'm not too worried about them ignoring the email I sent asking for the automatic renewal to be removed from my account.
