Well, bummer...

I went for a morning walk, and ran into a friend with a little dog that I like, and the dog's mama announced she was moving across country to New York, where I found out she's originally from.
I'm bummed, as I've shared walks with this lady quite a few times over the two years I've been here, and she's good to talk to, and her little dog is a sweetheart who goes nuts when she sees me (and probably anyone else she likes, but...).
Like the dog's mama said to me, "You'll make a new friend." which I might, but it's always hard when someone you like moves.

It's even worse when they move but don't tell you.

It is always sad when someone you like moves away and so far, Is she heading for my hometown NYC?

Moves can be hard - period.
I know what you mean about your dog friend. Ever since Margie moved in across the hall from me, her little dog, Buster, has gone nuts whenever he has seen me. This morning, they were in the laundry room. Margie's back was to me, but Buster was looking out the glass door and spotted me. I had to come in and say "hello" to him before he yanked Margie to the ground.

It's sad to be sure, but she does need to do what's best for her. You still have plenty of friends I'm sure.

I can so agree with you about having someone you like move. It's even worse when they move and take their dog that you are in love with, with them. At least she is just moving and it isn't more permanent.
