I don't know why I feel so scared with my coming surgery. My mom said she didn't feel anything and she just lie there in the bed.
When I think of it at first I feel it would just be easy and there is nothing for me to do but just lie in bed and wait for the surgery to finish
But as I think of it I feel anxious. Even if there is a bible verse not to be anxious I still feel anxious.
Can you help me with surgery anxiety? Have you experience surgery in your life? How was it is it easy?

I have so many scars from surgeries that I would fill a book. I prefer general anesthesia, no matter if I don´t ever wake up. I had a histerectomy several years ago. Do what the doctor says on the post op. And relax. Surgeons know what they are doing.

Thank you marguicha. It helps to think that surgeons know what they are doing. Are you awake or asleep in the operation?

@averygirl72 I am a nurse and we have a lot of hysterectomy patients before. It is quite a minor op and you may go home on the next day. Very low risk. But I will keep you in my prayers.

I never had surgery in my life but I understand how much a person will be feeling when he/she knows that he/she has to undergo surgery soon. I felt it when my wife and my son had in the past. Just keep your head cool and try to engage yourself in reading books or anything you have an interest in.

I haven't experienced it yet. I even haven't tried tooth extraction up to now..
I think you need to pray when you feel anxious..

Surgery is a vwry serious thing. I do not blame you for being scared with it. Not everyone is the same and you feel one way and your mother feels another way. Maybe I had it when I was a baby but do not remember. My finger got caught in a cr door but cannot tell you how to feel. It will probably turn out fine but it happens that we can worry before hand.

You are right that it is ok to feel that way. Does it help when they tell you their experiences?

It is very understandable to feel that way. I would not only be anxious I would be terrified. But once its done you will realize there is nothing to be afraid of.

@averygirl72 yes, caesar.
I was scared but i believe in God and have a positive thinking. At 1998 was under general anesthesia at the time of surgery and took 40 days to recover. in 2005 I was under local anesthesia so I felt my stomach being cut but it didn't hurt, I heard the doctor talking to the others. At the same time, I was accompanied by a doctor to talk any things to make me not stress. the second surgery need shorter recovery time 14 days
