I´m going to fry some sweets I haven´t done for ages.

I used to bake and roast and make all sorts of sweet things over 25 years ago. But my husband´s diabetes (and another worse ailment) stopped me from doing that and I forgot about it. Today I reached for a very old cook book that someone gave me when I got married. I don´t even remember who gave it to me and I thank in my heart that person who must be dead now. Everyone in my generation was young and did not have money to buy even a cook book. So surely it was someone from my parents generation. That ancient cook book has a recipe for some fried sweets. So now I go to the kitchen. It seems that mylot is not working well yet, so I´ll go there without much guilt. See you later. I´ll tell you how it all went.

I have some old cookbooks I've had for years. I used to use those recipes but I never open them now. It seems too much trouble for one. Hope yours turns out yummy..

@marguicha That's a great way to do it if you're in the cooking mood.

I hope making the fried sweets worked out well for you... It sounds interesting. Pretty and I went grocery shopping and bought some candy if you would like some? I got a bag of regular M & Ms... I like them.

Can't wait to hear how it went. Old cookbooks are the best with classic recipes.

I have given away so many cookbooks, but I saved my favorites and ones from my family. I love cookbooks and trying new recipes. I have never fried anything sweet, with the exception of the few times we have made homemade donuts. Let us know what you fix, I'm interested!

It had been a lot time since I read a recipe in a book. I have lots of books that I don´t use anymore.

Good luck with yoru cooking. For sure it will be delicious. My maternal grandmother kept a lot of cookbooks. She also has soem notebooks with hand-written recipes. God bless her! There isn't a day that I do not think of her and my maternal grandfather. In fact I can say that I'm close to both sets of my grandparents.

They are fried sweets made with flour, eggs, milk and butter. Then you cover them with sugar.
