In many parts of north India lotus is cultivated.

The ponds and lakes in India have the capacity of lotus cultivation. It is cultivated a lot. The lotus leaves are used as plates for eating meals. There is no impurity in the lotus leaves and once washed it is healthy also. The lotus plantations look very pretty.

I think yes , Lotus seeds called makhana is being sold here . It has good fibre content helps in weight loss
