Well since someone wants to talk about the mall prank gone wrong here in VA. Let me tell you about as a resident of VA and living right down the road form this actual mall. My community knows a lot about it. In the state of VA its not against the law to carry a gun a small gun not a big on. We have open carry laws but you can only wear them where is allowed the mall is a place its allowed. Not saying that might change here in the future its up to the mall owner the Achor stores have a little of wiggle room with their own rules which are on all the doors.
The young man doing the prank gets his jolly's from pranking strangers. (Not cool.) The guy pulled the prank on the wrong person a stranger he didn't know had a small firearm. Video from another person caught the prank probably the prankers helper. In this mall we have a small police station downstairs don't know why just there always has been since the mall opened many years ago before the area got build up. Now we have more stations. We have both small cops and regular cops that walk this mall on a daily basis so there presents has always been heavy specially on the weekend and this week being leading into Easter more so. When a singular shot was fire police went in heavy. The 21-year-old made it outside where he meets police and EMS took him away. Inside police and cops had already found the man that shot the 21 years. He was sitting and waiting. He had his court appearance yesterday where he pled not guilty.
My family was going to be going to the mall that day. My kids asked 1:30 and by the time we got to the mall down the road from our house less then 10 minutes. The place has be cleared out, reports hadn't been made yet so there for us the public and community memebers haven't been notified because they don't have to about a shotting. This is VA we have shottings all of the time some areas more so then others. Normally not at the mall. But you probably remember back in the early 00's we had a snipper that randomly went around DC shotting people. we have also had college shottings, no high school ones that I know of or elementary. Which schools shootings across the US is a lot higher then your normal shotting of someone at the gas station, walmart, hey even the mall. Movie thearters have strick no guns or weapons inside because one of the Bat man movies year had a shotting.
Thing is when people say we need more gun countrol I don't' agree or disagree. I agree we shouldn't be allowed to have stronge firearms meaning the big guns that hold a lot of power and you can string a belt with. I'm good with like England does where only the police and farmers have guns. normal people can have small hand firarms. We already have depending on which state you live in where people get finger printed, back ground checks. This shotting wasn't that of someone mentally unstable or trying to plot revege on someone that hurt him. This was most likely a self defense moment. We are not currently allowed to see that video as its in lock up as evidence.
The police kept the mall closed for the rest of the day as the completed they investigation.

If someone is going to disobey the law against murder, then no sign you can put on a door will dissuade them.
This world is too crazy to try to do an “innocent prank” on a stranger. The shooting may have been excessive, but the “prankster” cannot be excused.

That prank was uncalled for with all the shooting going on lately.
