Chocolate for Easter

It’s Easter Saturday here in Co. Mayo, Ireland. I hope you're all having a good day, especially if you celebrate it as a significant religious event. Yesterday, our son and his wife gave me the chocolates you see in the photo. The big box holds an egg as well as truffle chocolates so I’ll be opening that soon to see what’s in it. Luckily, we are here another three weeks as I don’t want to have to take too much extra luggage home. Our town, Ballina, is still busy gearing up for the visit of Joe Biden. The dress shop mannequins are all decked out in red, white and blue outfits. Another shop window is full of red, white and blue balloons.

@JudyEv *sigh* I was going to suggest you mail the chocolates to me if you didn't think you could manage eating them all. We bought peanut butter eggs. I prefer caramel/chocolate eggs but our Walmart was sold out of them already. Pretty insisted I buy one egg that is the size of an American football... Then told me I have to split it with her. I'm sure I'll be lucky to get some of it. She eats candy a lot faster than I do.

Years ago I found a box of Lindor dark chocolate balls in one of our stores, boy were they good. It's amazing what trouble people go to in order to impress foreign dignitaries.

Enjoy those chocolates. . Three weeks is enough to finish them or atleast finish most of them and having little to take back. I bet the shops must be looking all festive with those bright colours. Happy Easter.
