I would like to tell about makhana . It is also called as fox nuts. I came to know about makhana from my cousin sister. She regularly consumes it and asked me to try once .
It's Getting very popular here for its health benefits. It is lotus seeds and the taste is very similar to pop corn . It is usually roasted and we can take as snacks and also add as toppings on soup . Some people fry it with adding oil . It's not good to fry as it lose the health benefits.
The health benefits of makhana is good mainly for diabetic people, weight loss, hormonal balance .

I love them and we use them as regular snacks. Good snacks option for diabetics. My husband is from Darbhanga, Madhubani in Bihar and that's the place where they grow makhana. So, it's like our comfort snacks.

@Icydoll I don't fry..just roast it and take them out in bowl. I like it plain also. Sometimes we add a spoonful of ghee when it's still hot and freshly roasted and mix it with salt, pepper powder and if you want add chaat masala.
