Woke up to cool temperatures earlier. But now the sun is out and we will get into the high 60's F later.
Took my phone with me around the yard just now. Snapped a ton of photos. Many birds have their nests built and you can see the surprise in the photo above! Beautiful blue robin eggs.
So far, I have found three robin nests. And the one above, (Mockingbird Butt) is in one of the pines in the back. Funny how he never moved when I got close for a photo. The eggs may be hatched already.
A pair of cardinals are nesting, but haven't found it yet. Also a pair of Thrashers are in another holly bush. I will need a helmet to check all of these nests. Too high for me to see eggs. But maybe soon.
That is what is going on here on this Easter Sunday. Hope you are enjoying your day. You can also see the first Honeysuckle bloom in the photo above. Spring is definitely in the air these days.

The birds are everywhere aren't they? Love your collage.
I went out this morning and got a nice recording of some kind of bird singing his lungs out.
You have to wait a while til he start chirping.

Cannot imagine so many bird bests at one place. I do not see a single one here unless they are high on top of trees although I see many birds chirping away

@allknowing Each year as the trees mature I see more birds it seems. More places for their nests.

@CarolDM We went to a friend's church this morning (first time in many months) and Robert and Nathan joined us. That was very special. Just had a nap after a terrible migraine, but better now.

@CarolDM I only got to watch a nest of eggs one time. Only one egg hatched and it was so fun ever day to take a photo and see the changes. It’s amazing how fast they grow and change and how absolutely adorable they are once they have those fluffy feathers and are hopping out of the nest.

I am very very careful. I am aware they will abandon if you disturb the nests. I never touch anything, only very carefully peeking and quickly taking photos. Many nests are too high to check out, I just watch them sit on the eggs that I cannot see.

@shaggin Oh I did years ago. I had to know the things to do and not to do to keep the eggs and babies safe. I learn something ever year actually. So cool to watch the robins build their nests. They would get pine straw in their beaks, wet it in the bird bath and make the nest. This creates a mud nest and is very strong. They sometimes re-use the nests.

Wow, you have so many nests in your yard! Do all those different species of birds mind being so close to each other?
I have a lot of nests in my yard too, but they are all squirrels nests.

@CarolDM I wonder if the plethora of squirrels here in my yard is what keeps a lot of birds away from nesting?

And I have found more over the past few days. So exciting. They keep a distance with each other. Some will chase others off if they get too close. Each species is so different. Having an acre gives many a chance to have their space. No squirrels here.

@moffittjc In general, squirrels are fairly harmless animals. However, if there’s not enough food around, they do and will eat bird eggs as well as baby birds.

Great shots! As I have mentioned, we don't have as many birds here as I'm used to. But I did see something yesterday that made me smile. After Kitty concluded her early late morning nap on my balcony, she left some of her fur behind. After she had settled in on my couch for her late late morning nap, I spied a sparrow on my balcony. It looked quickly left and right, and then picked up some of Kitty's fur before flying off. So we have sparrows nesting somewhere around here. I wonder if Kitty would find it ironic that she is contributing to the happiness of local sparrows.

@CarolDM Here in our town different flowers are blooming.Today in early morning I went to a temple located at a small jungle. It is about 3 kms from my place.I saw a flock of wild parrots landed anc perched on branches of trees. There many cuckoos .One thing was missing - flowers..There are mostly big trees like banyan and peepal;but no flower plants.

@CarolDM Unfortunately the plants are cleared for the construction of the overbridge. And yes;last night at about 1.30 pm a herd of wild elephantz entered our town.People were fast asleep.Someone heard their trumpet. He saw them through the window and immediately informed the forest officials.Within next minutes the officials arrived with experts.and drove. the beasts out of. the town. The experts are still at the outskirts of the town trying to drive them to the jungles and ensure they don't enter the town again.

@Shivram59 Oh I see. Construction is happening all over the world. Too bad the plants were cleared. Wild elephants would be a scary site to see. I hope they can get back to their home in the jungles.
