As all the runoff from upstream flows into the basin. Two solid days of rain will do that. The bench in the photo was on dry land yesterday afternoon. There is another bench past that one you could just see the top of then. It's completely submerged this morning. Sophie and I took a walk around the B Loop of the campground. B Loop is the loop we're camping on. The distance around is about 3/4 of a mile//1.2km. Other than the impressive rising water, the coolest thing we saw was a pair of ducks - I believe they were a mated pair - waddling down the middle of the road ahead of us. Once they realized we were coming up behind them, they took flight. It was a beautiful sight to see them take wing. Too bad I didn't have time to get my phone out for a picture. I haven't moved out to the screen room yet. Still a bit too chilly. I did put the heater out there - the room has full curtains to close it off like a tent - and it should be comfortable enough out there soon. I also took Ace for a short walk. Once he finished his 'business,' he had no interest in going any farther. I think he's still tuckered out from yesterday's long walks. Hope your Monday is going or went well, depending on when in time you are.

This won't affect your site will it?

Our site is on a rise well above the lake. We can see the lake from here, through the trees, but short of a Noah-level flood, we'll be okay.

You’re far enough away from the lake to not be affected, aren’t you? Glad you just saw ducks and no bears.

The site we're in is a good 20 feet above the current lake level. Only one of the sites on this loop is low enough to be at risk if the levels keep rising and it was dry when we went by. No bears so far, though it's not impossible. Just ducks, lots of other birds, and squirrels.

They seem to have huge tides here in Ireland too. Often you see a heap of boats all sitting on the sand.

Whilst we've had a fair bit of rain, nothing like in the picture though, there is already talk of water shortages this summer!
