Yummy! I’m back in Mark’s, having their pulled chicken-stuffed baked potato for lunch. Oooh, is that good. But you don’t care, you’re here for the music. And music you shall have! Here’s another song from 1963 and the current theme of “girl power.”

Now, if you’re going to listen to ONE Lesley Gore song in your lifetime, make it “You Don’t Own Me.” However, this is probably the song that’s automatically associated with her.
Quincy Jones produced this song that’s a tale of woe from the innocent years. It was inspired by lyricist Seymour Gottlieb’s daughter (named Judy, interestingly enough) crying over the notion of her grandparents being invited to her 16th birthday party. Yeah, that’s a sixteen-year-old for you.
Lesley Gore (real name: Goldstein) died in 2015 of lung cancer. She left behind a large body of work that goes beyond this tune.

An oldie but a goodie and I was a big Lesley Gore fan way back when.

Well, it’s a baked potato, and they put three ounces of pulled chicken (white meat) on it, then cover it with cheese. Less than nine bucks for a great lunch.

This is the first time I heard this song. A very pleasant song.
Love chicken stuffed baked potato. When I'm on veggie diet, I sometimes have broccoli stuffed baked potato with cheese on it.

I've listened to Lesley's, You Don't Own Me many times on Oldies radio stations and I enjoy it every time. 
And this Party song's a keeper too. Even if she won't listen to anyone's advice to "Stop Your Sobbing."
