Today was a bit different day for me

In the midst of the typical hustle of my routine, I was working from home when I noticed that my body was beginning to feel numb and lightheaded. My blood pressure was higher than I thought it should be when I checked it, so I decided to lie in bed and take a nap. It dropped, then after lunch it rose once more, so I went to the ER to get this looked at. My blood pressure suddenly returned to normal upon entering the hospital for no apparent cause. They simply watched me there and examined my bloodwork and ECG to see, but I have no idea what to say. I really do not know what happened to me.

Is it too hot there? The heat might have caused it. Are you planing to consult a specialist or get a second opinion?

The weather was fair and it was raining too. So I do not think the weather is at fault for this.

@rsa101 Then maybe it's best to see a cardiologist or seek a second opinion.

I think maybe most people's pressure goes up and down a bit and the reason can be hard to determine. I hope they can work out what is happening for you.

Indeed, I believe I will learn more about my condition this weekend when I have my annual physical. However, as I assume, it could simply be a case of mental fatigue that caused my body to go berserk.

I hope the doctor can find out what happened. Most complaining about the bp because of the hot weather.

The weather was not that hot on that day. It was the start of storm so weather was quite cool. But I guess weather can indeed affect the BP. I am ok for now but constantly monitoring my BP levels to be sure. What happened that day was different I accept I was busy that day though so that could be the trigger why my BP did go uncontrollably high.

Yeah I hear a lot of people are also complaining about headaches caused by long exposure to the sun during the times the sun is in full blast. My case was different since it happened when things was way cooler because it was raining because of the storm passing by.

@sol_cee I am pretty sure that I felt bad during that day but for no reason at all it looked liked it has gone down when I arrived at the Hospital I suspected my BP monitor is reading wrong but when I checked when I got home the reading was the same as the hospital so what it read early this morning was really correct.

The funny thing is that when I was in the hospital it was already gone back to normal so I just took some blood test and ecg to be sure there is nothing wrong with me. I guess I am stressed during that day hopefully today it would be different as I monitor my BP it is slowly creeping up once more.

Oh! Sorry to hear that. Take care and take good rest. It's a relief that blood work and ECG went normal. But you still need to be watchful. BP fluctuations can not be ignored. Sending positive thoughts and prayers for you.

Just surprised that it happened out of nowhere. It seemed like there was some kind of trigger during the day and when I got to the hospital they cannot get any clue what happened to me.

@rsa101 Oh! I hope that you are feeling good now. Take care. I hope that you don't get another episode like that. Sometimes too much of heat also can cause that.

How odd. I have been experiencing something off with my blood pressure lately as well, and now my doctor has ordered all kinds of tests. For the last two days I had to wear a monitor with electrodes so a small machine could record my heart rhythms. I hope your health stays stable.

A couple of years ago I also wear that monitor as well to monitor my BP and heart rate. That I was given medication to control my BP. Lately, I experience it once again, but based on the blood work and ECG done on me there seems to be nothing wrong with it. I am confused about what is really happening. The doctor just added medication to be sure.

To get a correct diagnosis, you may want to have complete laboratory tests and other diagnostic tests. Only then, can they arrive at a correct diagnosis. Unless, your doctor is an experienced one, who can diagnose through experience, a good doctor would need confirmation of his/her first impression. There is also what they call essential hypertension in which there are no primary causes. That's why a doctor is needed here. Good luck. I hope your prognosis will be good and it's nothing serious.

I think I am suspecting my work may be the culprit in this. I think I am near burnout already that is why these symptoms are showing.

Well I still feel a bit dizzy at times but my doctor said for as long as my BP has not reached 160/90 there is nothing to worry about that.

There are days that I feel that my BP is rising but it does not remain the same all throughout the period.

That is what the doctors used to advice. But the nature of my job would not allow that. I will either opt for retirement to be relieved from the stress.

I am suspecting that too I was quite busy during the day when those symptoms flared up. And after I stopped it slowed down and when I was about to start in the afternoon it flared up again. When I finally decided to have it checked in ER it went down to normal levels again that is why they said it was reactive hypertension. I need to watch if it happens again tomorrow and advised to monitor my BP.
