Mango harvest

We have four different varieties of mangoes of which we harvested two. The others are just not ready and we see another lot of flowers on them which is not normal That is what nature is up to these days Does whatever she fancies. There is no guarantee that we will get to enjoy the fruits these flowers will turn into as June is a month of rain and mangoes will rot in the rain Keeping my fingers crossed. We have harvested just a few for our consumption and I see they are turning yellow in the basket where we have kept them. They are wrapped in shredded paper for the warmth they need. My evening snack for a few days will be mangoes. What about you? What is your evening snack?

Ripe mangoes are one of my favorites, and when these are apple mangoes, I can eat them raw with fish sauce and pepper. For my evening snack, it would be ramyeon and some bananas.

That's nice you have a harvest of mangoes. I think I shall wait for some time until it is the mango season here. Usually the mangoes will be more available here in summer.

I never have evening snacks. I bought a very large mango yesterday, I will serve at noon instead of fruits. My husband likes slices with lime juice.

Hey, that reminds me of when I was younger and still resided in the province, where we had an Indian Mango. Because we couldn't eat them all when it bore fruit, my grandmother would use them to create jams and chutney. Sometimes we dip it in salt and sugar and eat it as a snack. Sometimes we utilized them in our cuisine as a vegetable. and we consume the ripe ones as dessert or a snack.

@allknowing Yes, which is why I used to really like them. Back then, I guess I was so accustomed to them that I thought of them as a yearly staple food.

I'm not that keen on mangoes but I know most people like them. Mother Nature must be having trouble with climate change too.

The climate change saga I wonder whether we human beings are really responsible for it
