A challenging place for a hike - Nephin

We took our niece’s grandson for a drive a few days ago. After passing through the Titanic village, Lahardane, we went down a very narrow, winding track to more or less the base of Nephin, the highest standalone mountain in Ireland. ‘Nephin’ may be translated as either ‘heavenly’, ‘sanctuary’ or ‘Finn’s Heaven’.
It was blowing a gale as we say, which means there were very strong winds but our great-nephew set off in his shorts to walk as far as he could in an hour. Vin and I read our books in the car and/or had naps. He was very taken with the scenery and hopes to go back one day to maybe climb the whole mountain.
Half the time the top of the mountain was covered in cloud but it cleared up long enough to take a few photos. It’s a very symmetrical mountain with a hollowed-out top.

Wow, I'm not really into mountain climbing. I did take a hike last month with friends and the next day, I could hardly get out of bed.

@JudyEv I don't really exercise these days. I would just sit all day crocheting or having my online meetings. So it's either im in a seated position or just laying in bed.

It's very scenic. Very symmetrical mountain. Hopefully, you can go back there and climb the full mountain.

It looks like an ancient volcano. Do you know if there was volcanic activity in the past?

I don't think I'll bother to climb a mountain. I'm too old now.

That's really pretty. I'll bet it wouldn't be so easy to try to walk through all those plants.

I want to live there, in fact, anywhere in Ireland. It is lovely.
