Day 276 (Proverbs 10:28) Gladness is the hope of the righteous, but the expectation of the wicked perishes. What makes you happy? What puts a smile on your face? Many things make a person happy, but how long does it last before your smile turns into a frown? Solomon said gladness was the hope of the righteous, those who put their trust in the LORD. However, even the expectation of those who reject God perishes. They live without hope. Christians live with hope. Gladness should fill your hearts because you accepted Jesus as Savior and Lord. It’s a gladness no one can take from you. When people see you, they should see a smile on your face because the love of Jesus Christ is in your heart. Your hope is secure in your salvation. Before you accepted Jesus as Savior and Lord, you were hopeless. You had no expectations. Only when you accepted Jesus as Savior and Lord, did your expectations change to hope and gladness. What do people see when they see you? Do they see hope and gladness on your face or hopelessness? Let’s pray: Father, You made me glad when I accepted Jesus as Savior and Lord. Let my gladness show on my face when people see me. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. Copyright © 16 April 2023 by Valerie Routhieaux Image courtesy of Pixabay
