I prefer a Dutch treat, thank you.

When going out with my friends when I was still working and even now, I usually prefer Dutch treats. It's because I don't want to owe people something when I can buy my own. I even went on Dutch dates when I was still unmarried.
Of course, there's always an exception to this when we're going out for a meal and a former colleague has a reason to treat everyone such as an anniversary, or a birthday.
What about you? What do you prefer? A Dutch treat or being treated to a meal?

yes me too i prefer dutch treats when with friends so i won't feel that i have to treat them next time , for a date i really can't go dutch on a date, if a man wants to go dutch on a date it's better for me to pay for everything

Yes, I prefer to have the Dutch treat. I am so sick and tired that when I would go out with a friend or a relative, almost all of them were so engaged in not spending to eat snacks. I can count from my fingers who are considerate in having a Dutch treat but only few of them. I don't know why they maybe think I was capable to always spend for them? Now, I'm trying to avoid these people.

@Jenaisle You're totally right. They should at least offer once.

There are those types of people who are "parasites", (forgive the term) that see you as an ATM machine that could cash up money whenever or whatever they want. I try to avoid them too. They are not true friends. They should at least offer even once to pay for their food.

I prefer Dutch too unless someone is celebrating and wants to foot the bill

@Jenaisle When it comes to split a common bill there comes the trouble It happened to me When I told my friend we would split the common bill she agreed and went on ordering like crazy I diplomatically changed the mode and said lets go Dutch

@LadyDuck Oh, sorry Anna, I thought you were just kidding. I meant I prefer to pay for my own food even in the company of others - that's a Dutch treat. And I didn't expect you to understand "Borahae" (a Korean term) because it's a BTS fandom term. We usually say, Borahae or "I purple you" to fellow BTS ARMY fans or people we care about. Borahae is the equivalent of "I love you" in English.

Both are good, depending on the situation. If we were going out with a couple, I would prefer a separate check rather than splitting the bill.
