This computer stuff will never be over with. I spent 2-1/2 hours on the phone with Carbonite yesterday. They are the company that automatically backs up my files. They finally sent me to an advanced rep who was able to find an old copy of two of my spreadsheets (I will have to update them) and some of my pictures. I still have some pictures that I'm trying to replace. I now have to go through two sets of files and figure out what to keep and what to delete.
I started going through March 12 Discussions; and I am now up to March 31. I am averaging 2 days per day (about 50 Discussions) and anywhere from 50-99 Notifications a day. I will catch up eventually.
Hubby went to his semi-annual dermatology appointment. Had another pre-cancerous spot frozen on his face. He always has some issue when he goes for these appointments.
Our weather has been up and down. We have some s**w on the ground which should melt today. Thursday it will be HOT! Gotta love Ohio.
Car insurance went up $70 for six months. They claim that increases happened throughout the industry.
What have you been up to? Wishing you all the best.

I have been using computers for more than 20 years, but still have no idea how deal with it when it's not working... it is frustrating...

Slaving over my PC as usual. Trying to cash out on survey sites, get gift cards and of course posting as much as I can on Vocal Media and other sites. I wish you the best of luck with your PC problems,

Recently we had to update our health insurance and car insurance. And the premiums have increased. Seems like inflation and price rise is a thing in all places and we have to live with it.
I am impressed that you could cover 50 discussions in day. I wish I could do that. I am always behind and left with lot to catch up here.

@arunima25 Exactly. These days you must be very careful to search out the bargains.

@LindaOHio Better to compare the prices and then go for the ones that suit our needs and our pocket.

Sorry about the extra computer troubles/issues that you have been dealing with.
I think you are doing pretty good on catching up...that's a long way to come from. I don't know if I would have been able to do that myself!
Sorry to hear that he had another one....that would be rough to deal with!
Wow, $70? That's a lot! I don't want to know how much mine will be, my bill will be due in about a month

If you paid Carbonite to protect your files than maybe it's time to let them know you might take legal action if they do not recover them. I only use my external hard drives so I have no worries about my older files.
Kool shot of this southern tip of the USA. It amazes me that Cuba is so close to us.

Thanks. Carbonite has recovered my pictures now and an old copy of my spreadsheets. I'll take that for now.

I’d be asking for my money back with Carbonite if they can’t help you.
Insurance is a scam…I mean, they claim they’re a “cooperative,” so “everybody” pitches in. That’s hogwash. If I’ part of a cooperative then I want them to stop spending $14.8 billion for naming rights to a football stadium.

After these computer issues will you back up your files on thumb drives?
We do not have any snow on the ground, but if it fell, I think that it is cold enough that it would stick.
I would love to see the clouds part and the sunshine return.
Hopefully on the weekend.......

I might also look for another company to back up my files. They failed miserably this time. It took 2 calls and about 4-5 hours for them to find SOME of my files.

Glad you are still recovering files and photos you thought were lost. Thumb drives are inexpensive and a great way to back up files.
Weather is up and down here. 40s at night and 80s during the day this week. Rain again soon. Everything is going up.

That's impressive - 50 discussions per day. I wish I could do that too. I hope you could recover all your files/data soon, and that your husband's dermatology event and treatment went well.
Take your time in replying to discussions, we will always be here.

It sure was! I wonder if it has to do with the fact that we're older now and a bigger risk?

Very interesting. My auto insurance went down $12. So much for the theory that the increases were industry wide. I think it’s just an excuse these companies use to raise prices.
On a related note, I was with GEICO for 27 years, and my rates kept going up. I called and complained because over that course of time I had never gotten any speeding tickets or been in any accidents. I argued that new accounts were getting all kinds of discounts, yet loyal customers kept getting increases. Finally, one of the supervisors flat out told me that their systems are rigged. It’s all about signing up new customers, not keeping loyal ones. So I cancelled my policy, switched to another company, and within a few weeks GEICO was sending me offers for rates at half the price I was paying before. I learned very quickly how to play the game.

@LindaOHio I've had the same truck for 14 years now. I argued with Geico that I've had the same insurance coverage on the truck for that entire time, yet rates kept going up. When I bought my truck, it was close to $50k. Now it's probably worth about $8-10k. So it's much cheaper for them to cover it now than it was when I bought it, so in theory I should be paying way less now than I did back then. But I guess you're right, as we get older we become a much bigger liability.

@moffittjc You're right about the depreciation on your truck. It all falls on deaf ears though when it comes to the insurance company.

Wow! I checked around; and the costs of the other agencies were MUCH higher. Maybe we're getting too old for cheap insurance. I think we're a bigger risk now.
