I was a senior in high school when the Oklahoma City bombing happened. Today is the anniversary of that national tragedy. Timothy McVeigh was convicted of the crime and sentenced to the death penalty. He was executed in 2001.
What are your recollections of this sad day? Where were you and what were you doing?

I was in college, so when I called my mom to make sure she’d gotten home okay she told me about it. I thought, when she said “bomb,” it was one of those Unabomber mailbox explosion things. Then, when I got home from school that night and saw the news, I realized the horror.
I went to the memorial in 2019. A very somber experience.
