So what do you think this photo shows? Fallen leaves perhaps? In reality, its coins in a waterway that you cross as you leave Kylemore Abbey in Connemara, Ireland. I like the reflections of the trees in the water. Kylemore Abbey has a magnificent walled garden which is currently being restored. We went there in 2008 when the restoration hadn’t been going long. There has been a lot of work done since then.

@kobesbuddy I've had that happen before, too. I just left the change on the ground. There used to be a lady who drove all over the parking lots in my city, picking up the change she found that people dropped or threw away. She had some mental problems and finally got help.

One day at McDonald's restaurant drive thru, my change dropped. When I opened my door to retrieve it, the pavement was covered with quarters and other pocket change! Yes, it was tempting to grab a handful, but of course, I didn't:)

I am now worried about meaning of the word coins that I know...let me check...those look like the ones I know but ...logically, how would they be, and who would be throwing them like that...and why...

The coins are in the bottom of a stream and the tree is just a reflection. Does that help?

@vandana7 Each person only has to throw one or two but if several thousand tourists do it then it adds up to a lot.

@JudyEv - This is usually the case, they throw a coin for good luck or to come back to visit the place again.

There didn't seem to be any signs around about it being good luck or whatever but I guess they make a wish as they throw them in.
