The cacti are still thriving.

I was worried about my cacti with all these problems (the fire and the colonoscopy). I confess I took care of Luna but not of my plants.
But cacti are not much interested in water. Only a small amount will suffice and they had that as the summer heat went away.
I am making some cacti for Dixie too. I gave her some for her terrace last year but Dixie told Humberto to take care of them and he drowned them
When I was at their home Dixie was so worried that so many had died (she thought that it was a pest). I looked at the drenched soil and told her that Humberto had murdered them with water.
So I´m making more for her and I know that they don´t mind if I don´t water them in a week.
Do you have cacti?

@LadyDuck I ate a piece of bread with butter and cheese and I´m drinking Chinese tea. For lunch I have some leftover pasta with pesto. And later I´ll make some rice to have at hand.

@marguicha cactus probably does just as well in pots. I have a snake plant in a pot.

You don´t have to take much care of cacti and succulents. They take care of themselves.

@marguicha I killed every succulent I had within days. Cactuses I kept alive longer but still killed many. I always over water or just never water .

@shaggin Succulent can be given a very small amount of water once a week. Cacti don´t have to be watered in winter, only when it is hot.

Poor Humberto was trying to take care of them, at least.
I don't have any cactuses now but I do have several succulents that don't like water too often. I usually give them a drink about once a month.

I guess he is one of those overprotective fathers-of-plants that gave them water every day

I have had cacti in the past but not now. Maybe I should. I do not water enough in the winter.
