I must have been very tired

silly, awkward, mismatched shoes, tired, work

Yesterday morning, I did my usual get-dressed-by-the-light-of-the-TV while getting ready for work. It wasn't until I got off of work and stepped out of the car back at the house that I realized I wore mismatched Crocs that day. Fortunately, they were both work-appropriate Crocs with no holes in the body and with slip-proof soles, but they were definitely from different pairs of shoes. I just have to laugh at myself sometimes. Have you ever done something like this?

Nope... but I've never tried getting dressed in the dark when I didn't want to wake anyone else up. My first wife always left the house before I did so she was the one trying not to wake me up and my second wife went to work at the same time that I did so it didn't matter if we woke each other up. I'm surprised somebody at your work didn't notice your non-matching shoes.

I'm also surprised no one noticed! Or maybe they did and just didn't say anything.

@spiderdust That's possible... They might have just assumed you spilled something on your shoe, too.

Art-deco feet. Very nicely done.

Not shoes, but frequently socks. And I have a standard answer: “I’ve got another pair just like it at home.”

I've done the sock thing before too. I worry less about that, especially since I remember when mismatched socks were trendy.

I wish I knew if no one said anything because they didn't notice or if they were being polite.

No. I've never done that. That's funny.

No, I have never done like this. Still these crocs are matching in colour so no one might have noticed it.

I suppose that the feeling of wearing them it's not very different. I would immediately know if I am wearing two different shoes, too different one from another.

Years ago, I knew a fellow in one of my classes from the previous year. He was always quiet. One day I dropped my pen, leaned over to pick it up and noticed his shoes--he had on one black tennis shoe, and one tan colored one. I asked him if he did that on purpose, his comment was he had worn them all week, waiting for someone to notice, and I was evidently the first person that did. I guess we just don't notice some things like we should. Those shoes would be rather easy to mix up with the colors being so similar.
