Had a parent who tried to cause trouble months ago email me today asking for a conference. I'm all like SURE! Your kid's averages have never even reached 55% in the previous 3 marking periods. The kid also failed 2 other classes and got a D in a 3rd one. I don't get many parent conferences these days but I am a freaking veteran. Parents don't intimidate me like they did back in my 20s. The kids don't pay attention, don't do the work, and don't study. Sure come at me. In today's situation the student also failed 2 other classes in addition to mine and got a D in another one. I suggested that the parent ask Guidance to get all involved teachers involved. Don't try to come at me. I've got receipts. So we'll see how the mother proceeds. I'm not against doing a conference alone or with other teachers. I can handle either situation. No clue what this mother could have beef with me at this point. Guess we will see.

Are all these classes in your classroom that the kid is failing? Just curious.

I am sure the mother is going to blame you and not her child.
