Have you ever tried to get in a car you THOUGHT was yours, only to find out it wasn't? Two cheerleaders shot doing this. Be aware!!

Tuesday night in Texas, this happened to two young cheerleaders in a grocery parking lot. The one girl thought it was her car and opened the driver's door. There was a young man in the front seat, while she tried to apologize, he shot her and the other girl.
Evidently, it's the latest thing to do--shoot, and injure or kill some young people making an honest mistake.
How is this happening almost daily??? That THREE in less than a week.
When is enough actually enough???

Evidently, no mistakes are allowed. Don't get lost. Don't turn around in anyone's driveway, and don't mistake someone's car for your own!
Gee, I've done all those things in the past, and I wasn't shot. We have passed the ridiculous stage and we need some action, right away!!

My family has always said ''be safe'' to each other upon parting, or ending a call or whatever. And we thought we were as safe as we could be. Now, no one is safe, no one at all. It breaks my heart.

I am afraid that people these days do not consider dealing with issues in a peaceful manner since our belief in God's Law is out the window.

I did have a moment this week. I had borrowed my friends car to attend an evening church service. It was dark and I tried opening another car with the key - it was the same model and a similar blue color! It took me a minute to figure out why the car door did not open (it was an old car which had to be opened with a key - not the electronic button ones).
I'm still alive and unhurt.

It does make us stop and think about how a completely innocent mistake can cost us our life. I am glad your incident was uneventful!

How sad is it that throughout the world, we now have to be proactive in pretty much everything we do and everywhere we go. And of course, no mistakes! We know that is not even possible. What a mess we are in.

When I was younger, I imagined all sorts things for my future, for everyone's future, really. I guess I wasn't realistic at all, because I sure never imagined we would be in a mess as huge as this one is, that no one can seem to agree on how to fix.

The shooter must have been up to no good to just open fire on 2 cheerleaders like that.
Also, it is necessary to point out that violent crimes have actually been on the decline for more than 40 years now, but it seems like it’s getting worse because the media promotes violent stories and negative news to sensationalize everything to help them sell stories and make money. Technology is actually hurting us in this case because we have access to digital headlines 24/7 now.

@MarieCoyle I know, that’s a crazy statistic, and one that is unacceptable.

Nevertheless, mass shootings are terrifying, school shootings, small children. According to the sources, more than one, the number one killer of children in the US is now gunfire. I just can't get that out of my head.

It truly is unacceptable. As a nation, I feel we could do much better than this.

Yes, I have. My own mother was born in Canada. According to Canadian law, I am also a citizen of Canada. I could take my family. It's a thought. However, it would uproot a lot of people and leave them without a job and starting over. A very hard decision.

I know that basically most countries have crime and violence. From the Midwest town I live in, it's less than 400 miles to Canada, so it's not like moving horribly far, if we ever did that.

The shooter was 110% in the wrong. What is wrong with people today?

@MarieCoyle I wonder if our brain size has shrunk over the years? Wouldn't surprise me.

I don't think many people are using their brains, or even know how to do that.
