I freely admit that I am not religious. I went to Catholic elementary school and a Catholic university but after getting my degree in biology I simply couldn't reconcile the religious teachings I knew with the science facts that I learned. I'm currently teaching a subject that can be "touchy" for some people. Its not a big deal really to teach evolution in a northeast blue state but that can cause a lot of problems in southern red states. I've been talking about the conflict between past religious teaching and its effect on society vs scientific discoveries and Charles Darwin's publication of his ideas on evolution. I do often post memes mocking Bible ideas that make no sense, though, like Noah's Magical Zoo Boat. I saw this one come up in my FB memories today. It says that Adam & Eve had 3 sons. . . and then somehow all of humanity was supposed to result from that. I get that I posted it because it points out how impossible that story is. I also don't read the Bible, though, so I don't know if that is actually true. From what I've seen on Google there were 3 sons (Abel, Cain, and Seth) and maybe there were other unnamed children. Um, if there were females why not mention that they were the second generation of mothers? (incest aside)
