Someone is very happy now (re: my neighbor)

I have been hearing a mature male voice telling the dogs to shut up lately and was curious if my Chinese neighbor had had a new tenant. A few days ago, I saw a grey hair man weeding in the front, I was so surprised (none of her tenants had been that nice, doing that task for her). Turned out that that was her husband, who had given her an ultimatum before Covid19 time, "return to China or else" (or he would divorce her). NB. The lady came to take care of her overseas student daughter ages ago. The kid has finished uni a few years back. The lady was so miserable, that to entertain herself, she went buying another house in our same suburb and spent time renovating it, before renting it out. 2021 must have been her unluckiest year, because while the husband wanted to divorce her, she broke her wrist then a leg while renovating her run down place. She used to walk around during that time with a very sad look. Now that her husband is very sick, he has decided to leave China and his business to join his wife and daughter here so that someone could take care of him. No wonder she has been walking around with a smile lately! All is good in her world right now I guess. Hope all is good in yours too.

hope that lady can lead happy life all the time.It seems her husband changed mind and stay with her.I would tell you a truth that Chinese women valued family very much. Most miserable women resulted from a terrible husband. If the husband was a good man, women will get satisfied and happy.however this is worldwide circumtance,i think.

The grown up daughter is relieved that her father joins her mother now. The daughter is at the age of wanting to live her own life, but couldn't do so because of feeling worry for her mother. Now that her mother and father are with each other, guess she is going to move out again. (She did that in the past, and the lonely mother followed her.)

It's all a matter of luck. I should say the husband is an opportunist.

@YrNemo Relationship are strange enough. One doesn't know what makes a person happy.

@aninditasen you are so right there. She is a good looking lady, she could have found another guy easily but she rather choose the devil she knows!

The wife is so happy to have him here with all cost, so she has a big grin on her face now (and she looks suddenly younger too). I have seen similar cases in the past.

I don't think the father falling out of love for the mother, but he wanted his wife to be in China with him. Unfortunately, she wanted to make sure their only child was OK, so she stayed put all these years. (Plus the fact that I think she is making good money having some sort of trading business here, buying baby formular milk and selling them to China. Just doing that, and she managed to buy another house paying cash!)

I think that is horrible of him. He didn’t want her until he needed someone to take care of him. I feel bad for her.

@YrNemo I am sure she is happy to have him back but I feel bad for her as he didn’t really want her enough until not he needs her. Such a cruel way to be.
